Why you should quit social media. (Except one platform)

Today, I would like to talk to you about the dangers of consuming too much social media. I will also share a platform that I don’t only think is safe to consume, but that is also beneficial for you and your business.

To be clear, I am not against using social media platforms, but I am highly against consuming then. I think they are highly effective when it comes to create addiction since I watched a documentary that explained the problem with social media on detail.

Short Documentary About The dangers of Social Media

This short video basically explains how social media can create an addiction that is really similar to gambling or drug addiction. Also, that we don’t know how bad this can potentially be for children and teenagers.

When it comes to using social media to promote your business I am into it, also to share relevant information with other business colleagues. But as you probably know, most people they just use it to see what others are up to and to portrait their lives in a positive manner. This behaviour, leads to the problems discussed on the next section of the post.

Fake lifes

Most of us know, that social media tends to portrait an overly positive life for most people.

I am not saying that most people want to brag about their lives, even though some obviously have that objective in mind. People tend to upload content that is normally a highlight of their lives.

We, humans, are social creatures, and when we see others having an amazing time, every time , we try to over compensate to make our life as good as them.

But guess what, our life never gets as good because the life we were trying to imitate was fake in the first place.

Moderation

I believe that moderation is the best way to approach social media. Make sure you are not consuming it at all times. If you do so, your brain will create a huge dependency from it, making you feel miserable when you don’t use it. Some people even compare it with cocaine addiction!

I would not recommend using these platforms for more than 30 minutes a day. I know it sounds difficult, but it will make you good and it will bring you peace of mind.

The Real Life

All of this social media influencers have their downs in life like you and me, so be smart and follow at least people that are able to add value to your life and if not, make sure you put that time back into your business.

This interview will show you how depressed Instagram can get you->https://fashionweekdaily.com/daily-summer-true-life-influencer/

But there is one platform, one platform that is different from the others, one platform that actually has the potential of creating new business for you and make you achieve something. I guess you know which one, right?

Linkedin

This platform will be, in my opinion, one of the biggest job and business finding platforms in the whole world, if it is not already the biggest.

It can benefit your business so much that I don’t even know where to start from.

Find listed some reason to be on Linkedin below:

  • Most businesses have an account in there so it is quite easy to make new connections and sales.
  • If you are an employee you can set your profile in order to be reached by employers and recruiters willing to offer you a job.
  • You can make infinite connections with people that are in the same industry.
  • You can share content to promote yourself and business, making you more interesting for employers and business owners.

Personally, is the only platform that I consume regularly. It has given me a lot of new industry knowledge and people to work with. Pretty much everybody is in there, so it will help you move your business and career forward. Something much more important than competing for the best selfie or whatever they do on instagram.

That is all I wanted to share with you today, make sure you check he video shown on top. It will make you realise how dangerous social media can be.
